Ukrainian officials said Monday that Russian forces attacked several regions with rockets and drones, including the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.
The head of Kyiv's military administration, Sergei Popko, said on Telegram that Russia had launched a drone along with more than 10 cruise missiles and about 10 ballistic missiles at the city.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said at least two people were injured by debris that fell after Ukrainian air defenses intercepted the missiles.
In the Russian attack, the boiler room of the water factory and the entrance to the metro station, which is used as a bomb shelter, were also damaged.
The governors of Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Nikolaev and Poltava regions said on Monday that air defenses shot down Russian drones over their regions, while the governor of Cherkassy said the missile was destroyed in flight over the region.
The Russian strikes came a day after Ukraine launched a massive airstrike against Russia, with the Russian Defense Ministry reporting that it had shot down 158 drones.
The ministry said on Monday it had shot down two Ukrainian drones, including one over the Belgorod region and another over the Black Sea.
Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Telegram that Ukrainian forces hit several districts, damaging a commercial facility as well as numerous homes. At least one person was injured, he said.
