Parts of the Czech Republic and Poland faced the worst floods in almost three decades.
Local floods in the south of Poland claimed the first life during the previous night.
"The first victim has been confirmed, here in the Klod district. 1.600 people have been evacuated there, we expect that there will be many more evacuations. In the Klod basin, the situation is the most dramatic," said Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

It is most critical in Silesia and the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in the south-west and south of Poland.
Due to strong winds and floods, many citizens of Poland were left without electricity, and mobile phone signals were also unavailable in some places.
"We made the decision to start using satellite communication via Starlink, but we should not hope that a connection will be established immediately everywhere," said Tusk.
Five people have died in Romania since Saturday after several days of rain due to storm Boris.
