A fire has engulfed a Russian weapons depot deep in the country, causing explosions and the closure of a major road, as Ukraine launched more than 100 drones at Russia and occupied Crimea last night, Russian media and the Ministry of Defense reported.
The affected warehouse is just a few kilometers from another that Ukrainian drones hit and set on fire on Wednesday, injuring 13 people.
Russian authorities today closed a 100-kilometer section of the main road and evacuated passengers from a nearby train station after a fire caused a series of explosions.
Posts with photos on the Telegram application say that a missile depot near the town of Toropets, in Russia's Tver region, 380 kilometers northwest of Moscow and 500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, was hit.
Another ammunition depot and a missile arsenal caught fire and exploded today after the attack in the Krasnodar region, in the southwest of Russia, which caused an evacuation.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces shot down 101 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory and Crimea last night.
There are no immediate reports of casualties in any Russian region.
