On the night of July 15, 2016, the Turkish people thwarted a coup attempt orchestrated by followers of the self-proclaimed "Imam of the Universe" Fetullah Gulen, who had previously infiltrated the Turkish armed forces and other institutions. These events represent a terrorist attack of unprecedented proportions in the history of the Republic of Turkey. 250 of our citizens were killed, and over 2000 were wounded.
The Turkish people, uniquely with great courage, came before the putsch. He stopped in front of the tanks. He defended the takeover of state institutions with his bodies. The Turkish people have shown that they will not allow an intervention that is outside the scope of democracy. He proved that the future of Turkey will be determined by the will of the people, not armed groups.
We respectfully remember our dear fallen martyrs who lost their lives heroically defending democracy and the future of the country and at the same time we express our gratitude to our gazis (fighters).
