The Russian army announced that it shot down 21 Ukrainian drones last night, 12 of which were over the territory of the Crimean peninsula.
"During the night, attempts by the Kiev regime to commit terrorist attacks with aerial drones on Russian territory were prevented," the Russian Ministry of Defense announced today.
The ministry added that anti-aircraft defense destroyed 21 Ukrainian drones.
The ministry specified that 12 drones were shot down over Crimea, and six over the Kursk region, where a major Ukrainian offensive has been taking place since the beginning of August.
Then one drone was neutralized each over the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk and Voronezh, which border Ukraine.
So far, there are no reports of damage or casualties.
Local authorities announced this morning that a fire broke out at an oil warehouse in Feodosia, Crimea, but did not link it to the overnight attacks.
The government of Crimea announced that a fire broke out in that oil warehouse, where rescuers and firefighters were sent, and that a state of emergency was declared in that city on the Black Sea.
Russia announces almost daily that it has destroyed Ukrainian drones launched into its territory. Kiev announces that it is carrying out these strikes, which are often aimed at energy facilities, in response to Russia's bombing of Ukraine for more than two years.
