Romania has raised military aircraft for the second time this week after an "unidentified object" violated its airspace over the Black Sea, the Defense Ministry said today.
A small object was discovered over the Black Sea moving towards Romania, a NATO member, around 2.30:XNUMX a.m., according to the Ministry's announcement.
Two F-18 planes of the Spanish Air Force and two F-16 planes of the Romanian Air Force were raised, but they did not spot the object that disappeared from the radar, the Ministry announced.
The same planes were also sent on Thursday in a similar case.
Romania shares a 650-mile border with Ukraine and has previously complained about Russian drones in its airspace as Moscow attacks Ukrainian targets along the Black Sea and Danube River.
Fragments of Russian drones have also been found several times on Romanian territory near the border with Ukraine.
