Moscow sent 96 drones and an air-to-air guided missile to Ukraine overnight, Ukrainian officials said.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 66 drones were destroyed during the nighttime attack, along with the missile, the Associated Press reports.

An additional 27 drones were "lost" over various areas, possibly due to electronic jamming, while one drone entered Belarusian airspace. There were no reported casualties.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday that Russia launched about 900 guided aerial bombs, 500 drones and 30 missiles at Ukraine over the past week.

On Sunday, on the X platform, formerly Twitter, Zelensky appealed to Ukraine's allies to provide that country with "capabilities for long-range attacks" for its security, stating that "these attacks would not be possible if we had enough support from the world."

Kiev is still awaiting a response from its Western partners to repeated requests to use long-range weapons to target targets on Russian territory, including pre-emptive Ukrainian strikes on camps where North Korean soldiers are trained.

The Ukrainian president also called on partners to introduce "really effective sanctions to prevent Russia from importing key components for the production of drones and missiles."

The appeal followed a speech on Saturday in which he said more than 2.000 drones and missiles "still using Western components" were fired at Ukraine in October, stressing the need for tighter export controls to prevent sanctions being circumvented.

In Russia, the defense ministry said 19 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight from Saturday to Sunday in three regions of Russia: 16 in Rostov Oblast, two in Belgorod Oblast and one in Volgograd Oblast.

A man was killed Sunday in a Ukrainian drone attack in the Belgorod region, according to regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
