Today, the police searched the offices of the Netflix company in France and the Netherlands, due to suspicions of financial abuse, judicial officials announced.
French and Dutch authorities have been working together for several months to investigate tax evasion, said a French official who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The French police searched Netflix's French headquarters, the court said, and added that the investigation into this case was started as early as 2022.
In the Netherlands, Dutch prosecutors also raided Netflix's European headquarters in Amsterdam.
Emma Bosma, spokeswoman for the National Office for Combating Fraud, Environmental Crime and Asset Confiscation, said the raid was carried out at the request of French authorities.
Netflix did not immediately respond to a written request for comment about the raids and the investigation.
Netflix was founded in 1997 and is currently the world's largest service for streaming movies and series.
