The unemployment rate in the European Union (EU) in September was 5,9 percent and is 0,2 percentage points lower than in the same period last year, Eurostat announced.
"The lowest unemployment rate was recorded in the Czech Republic at 2,8 percent. It is followed by Poland with 2,9 percent and Malta with three percent," stated Eurostat.
According to reports, the highest unemployment was recorded in Spain at 11,2 percent, followed by Greece at 9,3 percent, reports Tanjug.
According to Eurostat data, high unemployment was also recorded in Sweden and Finland, where it is 8,5 and 8,4 percent, respectively.
The youth unemployment rate in the EU was 14,8 percent.
When it comes to women, their unemployment rate in September was 6,1 percent, Eurostat stated.
