Kremlin spokesman Dimitriy Peskov announced today that freezing the Ukrainian conflict is unacceptable for Russia and added that it is important for Moscow to achieve its well-known goals, Tass agency reports.
Commenting on a Reuters report that there are several scenarios for ending the conflict, Peksov said that "no scenario of freezing the conflict will suit Russia."
"It is important for us to achieve our goals, which are well known to everyone," he emphasized.
Reuters previously reported that the leaders of Russia and the United States may soon agree to freeze hostilities in Ukraine. According to the sources of that news agency, the parties could discuss the concrete demarcation line, as well as the exchange of territories, especially in the Kursk and Kharkiv regions.
Russia has repeatedly expressed commitment to the goals of the special military operation, which include Ukraine's neutral and non-aligned status, ensuring the security of Russia's borders, Kiev's refusal to deploy foreign weapons on its territory.
In addition, Moscow advocated the necessity of accepting the reality on the ground: the free will of the residents of Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to be part of Russia, according to Tass.
