French Prime Minister Michel Barnier has resigned, according to French media.
Barnije handed over his resignation to President Emmanuel Macron in the Elysee Palace.
On Wednesday, deputies of the radical left and the extreme right united in the assembly to vote no confidence in the government, reminds N1.
It is the first fall of the French government since 1962.
331 deputies voted for the initiative. The minimum required was 288.
"Macron has 'taken note' of the resignation of Barnier's government," the Elysée Palace announced.
The outgoing prime minister and his team are said to remain responsible for running "day-to-day affairs" until a new government is appointed.
Macron, who urgently returned from a visit to Saudi Arabia, will address the public tonight at 20 p.m.
