At least one person was killed and three were injured when a residential building in The Hague collapsed this morning following an explosion, said The Hague Mayor Jan van Zanen.
A three-story residential building in The Hague partially collapsed today after an explosion and fire, and firefighters are searching for people who might be under the rubble.
Several apartments were destroyed in a fire in Marijaheve, the northeastern district of The Hague.
The cause is still unknown, but police say they are looking for a car that sped away after the explosion, without explaining the connection.
Prime Minister Dick Schoff said he was shocked, and the royal family expressed solidarity with residents and support for rescuers.
