Two security agents and two migrants were killed in a shooting in Lon Plage near the northern city of Dunkirk, French media reported, citing security sources.
A 22-year-old man surrendered to nearby authorities after the shooting, saying he was the attacker and had killed a fifth person in a nearby town earlier that day, according to French media.
Authorities found three weapons in his car, Reuters reports, citing French media.
The motive for the shooting is unknown.
Lon Plaž is located about 10 kilometers from the Channel and there is a camp for migrants.
