At least 30 people were injured today after a cable car broke down at the Spanish ski resort of Astun in the Pyrenees mountain range.
The emergency services said that ten people were being treated, two of whom had serious injuries and the others had minor injuries.
State TV channel TVE reported that about 80 skiers were trapped in the chairlift, whose cable appeared to have fallen out of its cradle.
Videos on social media show people lying in the snow under the ski lift.
When the cable fell out and the cable car suddenly stopped and rocked, some fell out of their seats and were then given medical attention.
Several helicopters were sent to lower people who remained in the seats to the ground and to transport the injured to hospitals.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez also spoke out, saying he was "shocked" by the news of the accident and sent words of support to the injured and their families.
