At least 16 miners were injured today in a methane explosion in a coal mine in southern Poland, and 14 of them were taken to hospitals, and another miner is being pulled out of the mine, the JSW company and emergency services said.
The company said the gas ignited at a depth of more than 850 meters, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
At the time of the explosion, there were 44 people in that part of the mine, according to the mine, Reuters reports.
