Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that the only Russian official he is willing to talk to is President Vladimir Putin, and only after Ukraine agrees on a joint plan with US President Donald Trump and European leaders.
Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Zelensky said Trump gave him his personal phone number and told him he could call him whenever he wanted.
"I will meet only with one Russian, with Putin, only after we have a common plan with Trump and Europe. And then we will sit down with Putin and stop the war. Only then am I ready for a meeting," Zelensky said in English.
Speaking about his relationship with Trump, with whom he spoke for the first time since taking office on Wednesday, Zelensky said the US president offered him his personal number.
