Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that claims that Ukraine started the war are like someone saying that America attacked Japan at Pearl Harbor in 1941.
"When will we Europeans stop making a fuss about Donald Trump and start helping him end this war? Of course, Ukraine didn't start the war. That's like saying America attacked Japan at Pearl Harbor. Of course, a country undergoing a violent invasion shouldn't be holding an election. There hasn't been a general election in the UK since 1935-1945. Of course Zelensky's approval rating isn't four percent, it's about the same as Trump's," Johnson wrote on X.
He says that Trump's statements are not intended to be historically accurate, but to shock Europeans and thereby force them to take action.
"Specifically, the US can see that $300 billion in frozen Russian assets are - mostly in Belgium. This is cash that could and should be used to pay Ukraine and compensate the US for its support. Why is Europe preventing the unfreezing of Putin's money? The US believes that Belgium, France and other countries are blocking it. This is absurd. We must be serious and fast," Johnson said.
