Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today hailed the Ukrainian "resistance" on the third anniversary of the Russian invasion, while several foreign leaders arrived in Kiev to reaffirm their support for Ukraine.
"Three years of resistance. Three years of gratitude. Three years of absolute heroism of Ukrainians," Zelensky wrote in a message on social media.
He thanked "all those who defend and support Ukraine."
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Antonio Costa, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in Kiev by train this morning.
Zelensky said that 13 leaders will gather at the summit in Kiev, and that another 24 will join them via video link.
Von der Leyen said she was in Kiev today because "Ukraine is Europe."
"In this fight for survival, it is not just the fate of Ukraine that is at stake. It is the fate of Europe," von der Leyen said in a message on social media.
