Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov praised US President Donald Trump's pragmatic goal of ending the war in Ukraine on Tuesday, but condemned Europe for seeking to prolong the conflict, Russian news agencies reported, citing Reuters.
Beta Agency reports that the Kremlin announced today that the radical change in the United States' (US) foreign policy towards Russia "largely" coincides with their vision.
The new US administration is rapidly changing all configurations of its foreign policy.
"That largely coincides with our vision," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a television interview broadcast today.

"There is still a long way to go, because the entire bilateral relationship has suffered enormous damage. But if the political will of both leaders, President (Vladimir) Putin and President (Donald) Trump, is maintained, this path can be quite quick and successful," Peskov added.
Since his inauguration on January 20, Trump has greatly changed US foreign policy compared to his predecessor, Joseph Biden, moving closer to Moscow.
Trump launched a scathing verbal attack on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday, casting doubt on Washington's continued support for Kiev.
