Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte handed over to The Hague Tribunal

Rodrigo Duterte was handed over to the International Criminal Court today, the court said, after issuing an arrest warrant for the former Philippine president for alleged crimes during his war on drugs.

"Today, March 12, 2025, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, born March 28, 1945, was surrendered to the International Criminal Court," the court, which is based in The Hague, said in a statement.

Duterte was recently arrested upon his arrival from Hong Kong and was detained by police on the orders of the International Criminal Court, which is investigating mass killings during his presidency as part of his war on drugs.
