Russian Army Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov told President Vladimir Putin today that his forces captured 430 Ukrainian soldiers during a recent advance in Russia's Kursk border region.
"The Ukrainian army, seeing that it was useless to continue resisting, began to actively surrender and 430 fighters were captured," Gerasimov said, Russian television reported.
Putin, for his part, suggested that the prisoners be "treated as terrorists."
The Russian President visited Russian forces in Kursk today.
