Red Cross workers and the White Angels, a Ukrainian police unit that assists civilians, helped Sumy residents flee to the city of Sumy, the regional capital.
Red Cross worker Ihor Shapoval said that drones followed them, but that they managed to escape.
He said they evacuated people from their homes after continuous attacks targeting several villages in the Sumy region.
Meanwhile, an entire family of three was killed in a Russian attack today in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia.
