Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russian attacks across the country remain a daily reality, despite a partial ceasefire agreed last week.

In a post on the X network, Zelensky condemned the overnight drone attack on Kiev, which killed at least three people, as well as the attack on the southern city of Zaporozhye, where a family of three reportedly lost their lives, the Guardian reports.

"These attacks are an everyday reality. This week alone, more than 1.580 guided aerial bombs, almost 1.100 attack drones, and 15 different types of missiles were used against our people," Zelensky wrote.

He also highlighted the worrying fact that "all these weapons contain at least 102.000 foreign components," and called on the international community to strengthen sanctions against Russia.

"That is why sanctions against Russian terrorists must be more effective. Every loophole in the sanctions system that allows them to bypass them must be closed," the Ukrainian president stressed.

Ahead of the upcoming peace talks in Saudi Arabia, Zelensky said that new decisions and pressure on Moscow are key to stopping the war.

"We need to strengthen Ukraine and our army – with more air defense systems and real support. I thank all partners who understand this and continue to stand by us," he said.

Meanwhile, the Russian news agency Interfax, citing the Russian Defense Ministry, announced that Russian troops had captured the village of Sribne in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region.

Sribne is located southwest of the industrial city of Pokrovsk, which is a key logistical point for the Ukrainian military. If it falls into Russian hands, Ukrainian forces could be left without a vital supply and transportation hub.
