Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called today for "pressure" on his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to end the invasion of Ukraine, which has been going on for more than three years.
"Whatever the talks with our partners, we must urge Putin to give a real order to stop the attacks. Whoever started the war must end it," Zelensky wrote on social media ahead of Russian-American talks in Saudi Arabia on a partial ceasefire.
According to him, it is clear to everyone that Russia is the only one keeping this war going.
"An unconditional ceasefire was proposed on March 11 and the attacks should have stopped by now. But it is Russia that is maintaining all this. And every night, every day, it is carrying out the most cynical attacks possible," the Ukrainian president added.
According to him, without pressure on Russia, the Russians in Moscow "will continue to ignore real diplomacy and destroy lives."
The Ukrainian delegation began talks with US envoys in Riyadh today, and talks between the US and Russian delegations are scheduled for tomorrow, also in Saudi Arabia.
