An industrial facility in Russia's Volga River region of Mordovia was hit by a drone attack early Saturday, the region's governor said in a statement to Telegram.

Governor Artyom Zdunov said emergency services were at the scene of the strike on the facility, which he did not name, and that there were no casualties.

Baza, a Telegram channel close to Russian police, said the target was a fiber optic factory in the city of Saransk, 820 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

He posted a video of an explosion in the night sky that he said showed an impact.

Russia and Ukraine are accusing each other of new attacks on each other's energy facilities, violating a ceasefire brokered by the United States (US).

The attacks came as both sides accuse each other of failing to abide by a US-proposed moratorium on strikes on energy infrastructure.

Both sides said they had provided the United States with details of the alleged violations, which prompted Moscow and Kiev to agree to a limited ceasefire last month as an expected stepping stone toward a full ceasefire.

Ukraine said last month it was willing to accept a full 30-day ceasefire, but Putin has refused to agree to it, raising a series of questions about how it would be monitored and expressing concerns that Ukraine would use the period to mobilize more troops and acquire more weapons from the West.
