At least a ton of cocaine has been seized and 20 people arrested in Spain, France and Belgium in a crackdown on an organization that was smuggling the drug in containers through the port of Valencia, Spanish police said today.
Seventeen people were arrested in Spain, two in Belgium and one in France, the statement said, adding that some of those arrested were linked to the Belgian branch of the Hells Angels biker group.
As part of the operation, coordinated by Europol and carried out by the national police, agents carried out 11 searches between Spain and Belgium.
