Russian authorities said today that they fired ballistic missiles at a Ukrainian military meeting in Sumy on Sunday, in an attack that killed at least 34 people according to Ukrainian authorities.
Authorities in Russia have accused Kiev of using civilians as "human shields."
The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces used two Iskander ballistic missiles and targeted the "meeting point of the command" group of the Ukrainian army in Sumy.
"Ukraine continues to use the population as human shields by setting up military facilities or organizing events involving military personnel in the center of a densely populated city," the Russian ministry added.
The attack, which injured around 100 people, was condemned by the international community.
