Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned today the Russian bombing of Ukraine, which killed at least nine people in Kiev overnight, and called on Russia to "immediately cease" the attacks.
"It has been 44 days since Ukraine agreed to a complete ceasefire and cessation of airstrikes... And it has been 44 days since Russia continues to kill our people," the Ukrainian leader said on the X network.
He added that "air strikes must stop immediately and unconditionally."
Zelensky said he was cutting short a visit to South Africa and returning home after Russia attacked Kiev.
Russia fired 70 missiles and 145 drones at six regions of Ukraine last night, the Ukrainian Air Force said.
The Air Force "detected and tracked 215 enemy air targets," 112 of which were destroyed, according to a statement on Telegram.
