Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today that Russia is "ready" to reach an agreement to end the war in Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump "is talking about an agreement and we are ready to reach it, but some specific elements still need to be worked out," Lavrov said in an interview with the US television network CBS.
Lavrov added that there are several signs that show it is moving in the right direction.
Negotiations to end the war in Ukraine are encountering obstacles such as resolving the issue of the status of the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea.
When asked about a new wave of attacks on Ukraine, which have killed at least 12 people in Kiev and injured dozens, Lavrov replied that Russia is targeting "only military targets or civilian locations used by the military."
