British Prime Minister Theresa May said today that around 600 buildings in England have similar highly flammable exterior cladding to Grenfell Tower, which was completely gutted in a fire last Sunday.
79 people died in that fire. Residents criticized the local authorities for the manner and speed with which the city services reacted, but also for the installation of flammable material during the renovation of the building.
May said in the British parliament that the results of the investigation into the fire in the solitaire in the London district of Kensington-Chelsea will be published in the next 48 hours.
That building caught fire in the night between June 14 and 15 and burned down quickly, most likely because cheap, flammable thermal insulation material was installed in it during the renovation.
Poor people who receive social assistance lived in the solitaire and for years they complained about problems with electricity and others, which is why the building was renovated last year.
