Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov today made international recognition of Russia's annexation of Crimea and other Ukrainian regions a condition for any negotiations with Kiev.
"International recognition of the Russian identity of Crimea, Sevastopol, the Donetsk People's Republic, the Luhansk People's Republic, the Kherson region and the Zaporizhia region is imperative," Sergei Lavrov told Brazilian media outlet Globo, Russian diplomacy said.
Russia, which launched an invasion of Ukraine three years ago, annexed the Crimean peninsula in 2014 and four other regions in September 2022.
