Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov rejected Kiev's proposal to extend the unilateral three-day ceasefire, announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin for the beginning of May, to 30 days.
Peskov said that Moscow had seen the offer from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, but that a number of issues needed to be clarified first, Hina reports.
"Without answers to these questions, it is difficult to conclude a long-term truce," Peskov said, adding that this was Putin's position.
Putin announced a unilateral ceasefire on Monday from May 8 to 11 that would coincide with the annual Victory Parade in Moscow's Red Square, which marks the end of World War II.
Peskov described the announcement of a three-day ceasefire as a "gesture of goodwill," while Zelensky said Putin's declaration of a ceasefire was another attempt at manipulation.
