At least 16 people have been wounded in Ukrainian drone attacks on the Belgorod region, the governor of the region in southwestern Russia, on the border with Ukraine, said today.
Among the injured are a doctor and a paramedic, Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov told Telegram.
Eight injured people were hospitalized, Hina reports.
The Defense Ministry announced that the Russian military destroyed 12 drones launched by Ukraine overnight, three of which were over the Belgorod region.
The statement did not say how many drones were launched from Ukraine in total.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for direct negotiations with Ukraine, while calling the proposal by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his European allies for a 30-day ceasefire an ultimatum.
Zelensky said he would attend the talks to be held in the Turkish city of Istanbul if Putin was there, and invited US President Donald Trump, who had offered to participate, to also come to the meeting.
