Trilateral meetings will be held in Istanbul tomorrow between Turks, Americans and Russians on one side, as well as Turks, Americans and Ukrainians on the other, sources close to the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced tonight.
"The meeting has ended. Another round of meetings in different formats will be held tomorrow. On the agenda are trilateral talks between the US, Ukraine and Turkey, as well as Russia, Ukraine and Turkey. It is uncertain whether the meeting will be held in a quadrilateral format (US, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey)," the same sources added.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sent his delegation to Istanbul today for negotiations with the Russians, led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
However, Russian President Vladimir Putin, who proposed direct Russia-Ukraine negotiations, did not attend and only announced yesterday that the Russian delegation would be led by his assistant Vladimir Medinsky, which caused dissatisfaction in Ukraine and the US.
