Russian President Vladimir Putin said today that he wants to "eliminate the causes" of the conflict in Ukraine and "guarantee Russia's security," two days after the first peace talks with Kiev since 2022 failed to lead to a ceasefire.
Moscow's goal is "to eliminate the causes that caused this crisis, create conditions for lasting peace and guarantee the security of the Russian state," the Russian president said in an interview with the Russian public service.
The Ukrainian military announced this morning that it had destroyed 88 drones, out of a total of 273, that were fired by the Russian military overnight, and that one person was killed in the attacks.
