One person was killed and 13 were wounded today in a Ukrainian drone attack in the Russian region of Tatarstan, local authorities said.
Regional governor Rustam Minnikhanov said the drone was destroyed, but its parts caused a fire and fell on a vehicle manufacturing plant in Yelabuga district, about 1.200 kilometers from the front line.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that six Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight.
Russia sent 183 drones and decoys into Ukraine overnight, along with 11 missiles, according to a statement from the Ukrainian Air Force, which said its air defenses destroyed 111 drones and eight missiles, while another 48 drones were disrupted.
Officials in the Poltava region said the nighttime attack damaged energy and agricultural infrastructure, but there were no casualties.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that its troops had captured another village in the Donetsk region, Malinovka.
The new attack came a day after a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, during which Trump reportedly called on Putin to end the war in Ukraine.
Russia has repatriated more bodies of fallen soldiers in accordance with an agreement reached during peace talks in Istanbul between Russian and Ukrainian delegations, Russian officials said today.
