Media freedom activists and Kurds protested near the British government headquarters in London today ahead of a meeting between Prime Minister Theresa May and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a visit to the UK.
Several dozen demonstrators gathered at the invitation of Reporters Without Borders.
They joined Kurdish activists who carried placards with Erdogan's face and the words "terrorist" as well as flags of jailed Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan.
According to the Organization for the Protection of Journalists, more than 100 journalists were arrested and 140 media houses were closed in Turkey after the failed military coup in July 2016.
Erdogan has been on an official three-day visit to Great Britain since Sunday, which welcomed him with all the honors in the perspective of cooperation with Turkey after its withdrawal from the European Union.
The Turkish president will also be received by Queen Elizabeth II.
