The Russian military launched 85 drones and one missile into Ukraine last night, Ukrainian authorities announced, stating that this happened while Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump were meeting in Alaska.
The Ukrainian Air Force announced via Telegram that it had shot down 61 drones, including Shahed-type and so-called decoy drones.
As reported, the targets of the attack were the northeastern Sumy region, the eastern Donetsk region, Cheryhiv in the north and Dnipopetrovsk in eastern Ukraine.
Russia is targeting Ukraine with drones and missiles almost every night, and there are deaths and injuries in the attacks.
Kiev is asking its allies to provide it with more anti-aircraft defense systems to repel these constant attacks.
The attacks took place as Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump were meeting in Alaska, a meeting from which much was expected but which did not lead to a ceasefire agreement as Kiev and its European allies had hoped.
