The bodies of two more Croatian mountaineers buried in a snow avalanche were found this morning below the peak of Mount Tosc/Tolstec (2.275 meters above sea level) in the Julian Alps in Slovenia, the Slovenian agency STA reported.
An avalanche took three hikers from Croatia yesterday morning, and the first body was found yesterday.
The president of the Bohinj Mountain Rescue Service, Miha Arh, who is leading the search in which more than 70 people participated, told reporters today that the avalanche swept the hikers into a narrow ravine 350 meters below.
The Ministers of Interior of Slovenia and Croatia, Boštjan Poklukar and Davor Božinović, came to the mountain.
Seven mountaineers from Croatia set off towards the summit of Mount Tosc yesterday, but four mountaineers gave up due to bad weather, and three continued the climb.
The Slovenian Mountain Rescue Society and the police have warned hikers not to go to the Julian Alps these days because the weather is bad, the wet snow is very heavy and there is a high risk of avalanches.
