The Prime Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, said that she believes that Scotland will be independent from the United Kingdom by 2025.
"I think Scotland will be independent, but that's still the choice of the people of Scotland," Sturgeon said in an interview with ITV Tonight.
The leader of the SNP reminded that the Scots overwhelmingly voted to remain in the European Union.
That's why Sturgeon wants another independence referendum and plans to hold it sometime between autumn 2018 and spring 2019, which would allow Scots to assess the Brexit deal the UK makes.
In the previous referendum in September, Scotland voted to remain in the United Kingdom, but then the argument for remaining was that they were a member of the EU together.
"We were told in 2014 that we would lose our place in the EU if we voted for independence. That's why we voted the way we did, to protect our place in the EU," explained Sturgeon.
She believes that, after all, Scotland is in a democratically unsustainable position, because in Britain they behave as if no one is interested in the position of that country.
