The Russian army has overpowered the defenses of three settlements in the southern Ukrainian region of Zaporizhia, the head of the Ukrainian military forces, Oleksandr Syrsky, said today.
According to him, the thick fog allowed the Russians to infiltrate Ukrainian positions in Zaporizhia.
Sirsky wrote on the Telegram app that Ukrainian troops are in a fierce clash with Russian troops, intending to repel their attack.
However, he pointed out, the fiercest fighting is still taking place around the besieged Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk in the east of the country, in Donetsk, where about half of the battles on the long Russian-Ukrainian front have raged in the past 24 hours.
Recently, fighting has also been reported in northern Ukraine, in the Kharkiv region.
