A Russian An-22 military transport plane with seven crew members on board crashed in the Ivanovo region, northeast of Moscow, Russian media reported today.
"According to preliminary data, an An-22 aircraft crashed in the Ivanovo region," a local official said, according to the TASS news agency.
The accident occurred near the Uvodsko Reservoir, and fragments of the plane were spotted in the water.
The An-22 aircraft, as reported by Tanjug, took off on a test flight after repairs.
Rescue teams have been dispatched to the scene of the accident.
