A Russian An-22 military transport plane crashed today in the Ivanovo region, more than 200 kilometers northeast of Moscow, local authorities said, adding that everyone on board was killed.
"All crew members on board the plane were killed," the Russian Investigative Committee said, without giving further details.
According to the committee, an investigation has been launched into violations of flight preparation regulations.
Citing sources close to the rescue services, the Russian news agency TASS reported that there were likely seven people on board the plane.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, cited by TASS, the plane crashed in an uninhabited area during a test flight after repairs.
