Ukraine's navy accused Russia of deliberately using a drone to attack a civilian Turkish ship carrying sunflower oil to Egypt on Sunday, a day after Moscow attacked two Ukrainian ports, Reuters reported.

In a statement posted on Telegram, the navy said the ship was called "Viva" and that there were 11 Turkish citizens on board. It added that no one was injured and that the vessel continued its journey to Egypt.

"The attack was carried out on the high seas, in the exclusive economic zone of Ukraine, beyond the range of Ukrainian air defense systems," the statement said, accusing Russia of violating maritime law.

The Navy also announced that it is in contact with the ship's captain.

On Friday, Russia attacked two Ukrainian ports, damaging three ships owned by Turkish companies, the Ukrainian navy said. A large fire broke out on one of the ships.

The attacks came after Moscow threatened to "cut Ukraine off from the sea," following Kiev's attacks that damaged three tankers of the so-called "shadow fleet" that were sailing to Russia to export its oil.
