US envoy Steve Witkoff said tonight that "great progress" had been made during five hours of talks in Berlin with a Ukrainian delegation led by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"Great progress has been made," Vitkoff wrote on the X platform after talks in Berlin aimed at finding a diplomatic solution to end the war that Russia has launched in Ukraine.
The meeting between the Ukrainian president, the US envoy and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, lasted more than five hours and included "detailed discussions on the 20-point peace plan, economic programs and much more," wrote Witkoff, adding that the talks will continue tomorrow morning.
Ukrainian presidential adviser Dmytro Litvin said earlier today that talks between Ukrainian and American officials on proposals for a resolution to the war in Ukraine ended tonight after more than five hours and are expected to continue tomorrow.
Litvin said that the Ukrainian president will comment on the talks tomorrow when they are completed.
