Four people were injured in an explosion in a residential area in the center of the Dutch city of Utrecht, authorities said.
The cause of the explosion is not yet known. The police are investigating the case.
The explosion caused a fire and extensive property damage. Firefighters attempted to extinguish the flames, but were unable to immediately enter the damaged houses for fear of structural damage.
Emergency services said it was very difficult to say whether and how many victims were under the rubble.
