Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that Ukraine has never been and will never be an obstacle to peace, a day after US President Donald Trump singled it out as the reason for slow progress in peace talks, Reuters reported.
"We also discussed diplomatic work with America - Ukraine has never been and will never be an obstacle to peace," Zelensky said in his nightly video address, referring to a phone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
Trump said in an interview with Reuters on Wednesday that he believes Ukraine is less willing than Russia to reach a deal. Asked why U.S.-led negotiations have not yet resolved the nearly four-year-old war, Trump replied: "Zelensky."
