Two people died in Greece on Wednesday after heavy rain flooded homes and businesses in Athens and other parts of the country, authorities said.
A woman was killed after being hit by a car swept away by flash floods in the southern Athens suburb of Glyfada, a fire department official told Reuters.
Earlier on Wednesday, a coast guard officer was swept away by rough seas in a port in the Peloponnese, southern Greece.
"He fell into the sea while trying to tie up a smaller boat in the harbor," a coast guard official said.
