Ukraine has agreed new energy and military support packages with European allies ahead of the fourth anniversary of the war with Russia, the country's President Volodymyr Zelensky said today.

"In Munich, we agreed with the leaders of the Berlin Format on specific energy and military assistance packages for Ukraine by February 24," Zelensky wrote on X.

Kiev is gathering support from its partners as it tries to negotiate peace with the Russian side, under pressure from the United States, Reuters reports.

On Friday, after a meeting of the so-called Berlin format, which includes a dozen European leaders, in Munich, Zelensky said he hoped for new support, including air defense missiles.

"I am grateful to our partners for their willingness to help and we count on all deliveries to arrive quickly," he added.

Russian attacks have caused extensive damage to Ukraine's energy grid, leaving hundreds of thousands of people without heating and electricity.

Zelensky added that Russia launched about 1.300 drones, 1.200 aerial bombs and dozens of ballistic missiles into Ukraine in the past week alone.
