Five people have died and four others have been slightly injured in a fire in a residential building in northeastern Spain, in Catalonia, firefighters said.
According to Spanish news agency EFE, citing fire service sources, authorities believe all of the dead were young people, some of whom may have been minors. Identification will be completed later in the day, as some of the bodies were charred.
The fire broke out in the storage room of a five-story building in Manle, a town of about 21.000 people in the Osona region, north of Barcelona, firefighters said in a statement.
For reasons still unknown, the victims were unable to escape from the warehouse, they added. Catalan police have launched an investigation, Reuters reports.
